Located on the site of the old Woods Farmhouse, Cottage Stores in the central High Street is the only shop left in the village, and provides an important facility for the instant needs of residents and those without transport. It functions as a convenience store, incorporating newsagency, confectionery, grocery and Post Office.

Before the 1960s, the owners of Woods Farm farmed most of the land from the High Street to the brook, which is now occupied by the houses of Meadow View.

The village store moved here in the mid 1960s and the post office relocated in 1984 from what is now 26 High Street.
During the Covid Pandemic in 2020, the owners Vik and Krishna kept the village provisioned, and grateful residents nominated them for the Parish Council’s Community Shield Award in recognition of their fantastic work.
