Welcome to Potterspury
Potterspury is an ancient Northamptonshire village with a rich history. Located on the border of Northamptonshire and Buckinghamshire adjacent to the A5 – also known as the Roman Road and Watling Street – the village is listed in the Domesday Book and was part of the medieval royal forest of Whittlewood. Locally, legend has it that King Edward IV
met Elizabeth Woodville under the Queen’s Oak in Potterspury. Within the parish,
bounds are Roman remains, as well as landscapes planned by Capability Brown.
More recent history is well documented in words and photographs and we will be
publishing some of the village's historic collection of images on this site.
